Under historic beams you will discover a unique community owned pub, offering great service from our friendly team.

Enjoy high quality, freshly cooked food, and a wide range of drinks, in a building that has been welcoming people for nearly 500 years!  Our kitchen produces home-cooked meals, including Saturday breakfasts, using fresh, locally sourced ingredients.  Our style? British pub classics, quality specials and fresh seafood.  

In summer enjoy our lovely terrace, or get cosy by two wood-burning fires in winter.  There are many lovely walks in the valley, and your dogs are very welcome too!

Bought in 2017 by a community of over 250 wonderful people,  the Duke is run by Aaron and April Douglas and their dedicated team from whom you can expect a warm welcome.   The staff  are supported by a community management group and other volunteers – together proud to have a community pub with a very professional face!

You can look forward to a short but tasty blackboard menu of British pub favourites on Fridays and Saturdays, with full Sunday roast options on Sundays 12-4pm.  We always have a veggie/vegan options and offer many of our dishes gluten free.  We also offer takeaway meals (and beer!).

We are proud to be a freehouse real ale pub.   There are usually have at least three cask ales on tap, in addition to our range of keg beers and ciders.
